I ordered the garlic fries with Taziki sauce. They came out fresh and hot. The owner, Samir was very warm and genuine. With the nice seating arrangement outside, good food, and great customer service, this is definitely a restaurant I would want to come back to.

I love Samir’s! I’ve been coming here weekly for several months, and I always get the vegetarian combination plate and a lemonade, flavored with rose and mint. Samir himself is so cheerful and welcoming, and the food is delicious! The falafel is perfect, fresh and crispy but moist inside.

It's no wonder that Samir's one-man-show has been successful for 46 years. The food is fresh, flavorful, delicious -- and cheap. But on top of that, Samir himself is humble, gracious, and just a lovely person, welcoming everyone. What a treat to have his hummus plate drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with sumac. And the gyros plate is full of flavor, served on rice and vermicelli, with pita bread and a salad with dressing like tzatziki sauce. The ambience is humble, but adorned with hand painted quotations like "Dear food, either stop being so delicious or stop making me fat!"

The food and portions were so good! I got the shawarma plate, and my partner got the gyro plate. It's a cozy place inside; there are some benches outside too! The food was flavorful and super filling! I recommend this place; the owner is very kind and made me feel welcome!

Holy. Cow. I'm blown away by the meal I just had. The textures? Perfection. The flavors? Balanced and interesting. This was a meal I won't forget. We talked to Samir who was just lovely. I have a milk allergy and he was super helpful and kind about it.

I was originally planning to eat at another Mediterranean spot, but it was closed luckily, this restaurant was right across the street, so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did! I ordered the “Shawarma Plate” and the “Lamb Sandwich”, and honestly, both were way better than I expected. The Shawarma Plate especially hit the spot the tahini sauce on the meat, the fragrant basmati rice, and the fresh side salad all worked perfectly together. Speaking of the salad as someone who’s had a lot of Mediterranean food, I’m used to side salads being an afterthought (either smothered in heavy cream-based dressings or just plain undressed veggies). But this place served a beautifully fresh salad with a light, lemon-based dressing that really complemented the bold flavors of the dish. Portions were generous for the price, and the Shawarma Plate even came with a side of pita bread. This place feels like an overlooked gem, maybe because it’s slightly off the main road, but the food is seriously worth checking out. One suggestion: Please update your hours on Google it currently shows the restaurant as closed on Sundays. Other than that, keep up the amazing food and great prices!

This little Hidden gem in the University District is a great place to get a great meal, loved the Gyro and fries I had. Just the right amount of meat, lettuce, and tomato. Fries were nice and crispy. Very affordable, and Samir is a friendly and gracious host. I will go back again when in the University District. Really close to the Light Rail Station. Give them a try, think you will like the food and service.

Samir’s Mediterranean Grill is a must if you’re walking down University District. The Falafel plate was a vegan’s paradise! An interesting mixture of oval patties, pitas and salad. The light rail station is close by if you ever want to stop by again.
